Throughout the exciting journey of personalizing your home, there’s no one you’d rather have by your side than Kate. Looking for inspiration to turn your new home into your beautiful dream space? Take a look at a few of the trends we’re showcasing in our model home and seeing in many of our current homeowners’ selections:
Flooring: Darker stains are still popular with the red oak, but more medium to light hardwoods with neutral tones, flat finishes, and wide planks are now taking the spotlight. We’re also seeing a lot of specialty finishes like wire-brushed and hand-scraped, which add a lot of character and durability. We’re using 6” white oak, finished in place with a high traffic water-based bona stain.
Craftsman-Style Trim Package: We’re excited to introduce our craftsman-style trim package! This sleek and modern package includes board and batten style wainscoting, crown molding, window and door trim, square spindles on the stairs, and craftsman-style interior doors with matte black hardware. Let your creative side take over too and ask how we can incorporate some of the trim trends you have seen on HGTV.
Lighting Fixtures: We’re still seeing a lot of farmhouse influence with distressed or weathered materials like black steel, wood, and exposed Edison bulbs. Mid-century modern styles combining black finishes with warm golds, brass, or bronzes are also still as popular as ever. We’ll be introducing brand new lighting packages in the upcoming weeks, so stay tuned!
Tile: Subway pattern is still number one, but herringbone, chevron, and geometric tiles like hexagons, rhombus, diamond, and fan shapes are desirable options as well. Wood-look tile with geometric installation patterns is also becoming popular.
Color Schemes: When it comes to color, the hottest hues include medium to light softwood tones with navy blues, whites, grays (of course!), warm brown leathers, and blushes.
GE Cafe Appliances: People are having fun with new finishes like matte black and matte white, and custom-handle finishes between stainless, black, bronze, and copper. We’re doing the GE pro kitchen in the model with the stainless café appliances!
Plumbing Fixtures: Brushed nickel is still our number one seller, but people are getting bolder with mixing metals and incorporating oil-rubbed bronze, matte black, or polished chrome throughout their kitchens and bathrooms.
Cabinets: White shaker cabinets are still going strong! The model home kitchen will have a white shaker cabinet with a little extra dimension, and the bathrooms will feature gray stains and custom navy print on the cabinetry.
Countertops: With light-colored countertops being the fan favorite, quartz is popular as it’s resistant to staining and scratching. This is an easy selection to make as coloration and pattern are consistent compared to natural stone, which can vary a lot. The model will have an ivory-colored countertop with large muted-grey veining.
