Just like a quality home is the sum of its parts, so too is a home building team. At EG Home, we strive to hire people who are not only experienced and passionate about the industry, but who also bring a joie de vivre and an interesting point of view to their work. That’s why we are so fortunate to welcome Susan Worth, EG Home’s new Design Center and Product Offering Manager. We think you’ll love her as much as we do!
What’s your relationship with EG Home? What do you love most about working here?
Working with community builders over the last several years, EG Home’s emergence into the market was widely anticipated. I am happy and proud to be part of the team that continues to excel today. EG Home ticks all the boxes. They offer great home styles in beautiful communities, with wonderful appointments.
Where did you grow up? Tell us about your family!
Connecticut has been my home for nearly all my life. I was born and raised in Litchfield County, and my two sons were raised in Washington, CT. I have a son, daughter-in-law and granddaughter in Bethel, CT, and a son in Jupiter, FL. My husband Craig and I now live in Portland CT, with our English bulldog, Tesla.
How do you spend your free time? What do you do to relax?
I like to be outdoors as much as possible, working on gardens or walking the trail behind our home to the CT river, and fishing when I can. I also love to cook, practice on my guitars, and spend time with family.
What do you wish other people knew about EG Home?
I’m not sure what people don’t know, but what I do know is that EG Home provides the best standard feature inclusions for their homes. I also know EG Home has a great talent base, providing the foundation to do what it does best: build great homes!
What would someone be surprised to know about you?
Surprisingly, I don’t have much in the way of surprises. I find providing consistency for customers and co-workers is an important factor in representation of community building, and appreciation of accurate representation goes a long way.
Tell us about someone you admire.
Hedy Lamarr. Beauty and talent is what people saw on the big screen on many popular films of the 30’s. I admire her as a brilliant woman inventor, designing airplane wing upgrades for Howard Hughes. She also invented a radio-frequency hopping device for torpedoes patented for the war effort, and it was actually used as the basis for the structure of the Bluetooth we use today.
What inspires you and your work?
I enjoy learning all the time, and home building is constantly evolving. Working with a great team is an inspiring plus. Working hard together toward a common goal of a successful plan, process, and product makes it a rewarding experience.
We can’t wait for you to meet Susan! Once you choose your floor plan, she’ll take you through the design center, and help you choose from hundreds of gorgeous options to personalize your home. And we bet you’ll have a great time getting to know her in the process!
