Our goal at EG Home always is to build homes for families as if we were building them for our own. That’s why we want to give you a chance to learn a bit more about the incredible people who are helping create your new EG home! This week, we’re excited to throw the spotlight on our New Homes Sales Consultant, Shannon Chapman.
What is your role at EG Home? What do you like most about your specific role?
I am a New Homes Sales Consultant at EG Home. As a sales consultant, building a relationship with our buyers is my most important goal! Understanding the importance, emotions and investment involved with building a new home allows me to connect with my buyers on a personal level. Knowing that I was part of something that will encompass so many of their families’ memories makes me feel so valuable and appreciated for all my work.
What do you like most about working at EG Home? What inspires you and your work?
I love the family atmosphere, and the immediate involvement in team discussions.
There is nothing more tangible than watching a pile of dirt turn into a family’s home! Being part of that journey, and guiding buyers through the home selections process, inspires me to do my best every day.
What do you wish other people knew about EG Home?
That the focus is on the customer – always! The more we know about our buyers, the better we can help find the best homesite and floorplan that will work for their lifestyle. Having options is important, but being guided by a full team of professionals provides our buyers with the confidence that they can build a home without making it a full time job. The process EG Home has in place makes building a home exciting again!
Tell us about your family!
I grew up with my mom, dad & older brother in Cromwell, CT. We spent most of our summers at my parents’ home in the White Mountains, NH. My favorite drive is down the Kancamagus Highway to watch the fall foliage.
I currently live in Wethersfield, CT, with my boyfriend of almost ten years, Michael, and our Australian Cattle Dog, Riggs. And I have a 16-year-old nephew.
How do you spend your free time? What do you do to relax?
I spend a lot of time outdoors with my dog and my boyfriend. Living in central Connecticut provides easy access to our beautiful shoreline and gorgeous drives through Litchfield Hills. I recently learned how to ride a bike, and slowly but surely have become more coordinated. So, hopefully, soon I can enjoy the bike trails!
What would someone be surprised to know about you?
I wanted to work for the FBI! I went to college for Forensic Accounting but fell in love with Real Estate while attending school in Boston.
Tell us about someone you admire.
The people I admire the most are my parents! I’m very thankful for all the life lessons and everything they provided for me while growing up. They both work very hard in their professional careers, and I owe my dedicated work ethic to them. My father, currently in remission for cancer, reminds me that everyday is a gift. And although it’s ok to be down sometimes, never let things bother you for too long. Life is too short to let things get you down. You never know what someone could be going through. This has helped me tremendously with appreciating the simple things in life, and cherishing the relationships I build with my buyers.
